CEE Renewable Energy Sector Report 2024-2025
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘀, bolstered by government policies aimed at diversifying energy sources and reducing the reliance on Russian energy. The European energy crisis, triggered by Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022, accelerated efforts to deploy renewables in line with the EU's REPowerEU plan. This plan aims to end the bloc's dependence on Russian fossil fuels by 2027 and increase the share of renewables in final energy consumption to 45% by 2030.
